Pilates Equipment

A range of pilates equipment you might want to support Fitness pilates with Sheila Preston.

Small Equipment to support our work

As we step up our pilates classes we will be using a range of small equipment to support and deepen our work. This list will be added to as we grow our practice and get stronger.

Pilates Ball

For now you might want to think about getting a pilates ball. The pilates ball can be a great way of deepening your work whilst providing support for your lower back. There's the challenge of balance offered by the ball which is great for depending core stability but also they can feel supportive and more comfortable.

I recommend the Bender Ball as they are double thickness and really strong but they can be hard to get hold of. They are retailing at about £10 on Amazon at the moment.

I have a few of these myself which I can sell you for £8.40. If you want to purchase on from me you can follow this link

Otherwise there are plenty of other pilates balls on Amazon.  You could buy a core balance ball for £4.99

Glute Activation Bands

Widely available. These are fabric and do what they say, they are designed to activate your glutes and legs. The fabric bands are a lot more comfortable than the rubber bands.

Rubber bands

Widely available. These are handy for stretching hamstrings but also working other parts of the body. Make sure you get long enough bands so that they are useful beyond a hamstring stretch.
